I always pass on good advice. It's the only sensible thing to do with it.

I am a California native who has also lived in England and Chicago. I married a southern boy, and we moved to Mississippi. I am a serials librarian who is also trained to be a minister. I am not ordained but I give my pastor a lot of feedback (ie. trouble).

I enjoy traveling, going to movies (I love Bollywood!), and playing Dungeons and Dragons with two of my colleagues. Sipping a nice cup of tea while reading a good book on a cold Winter's day is one of my favorite things.

I'm a teaching and reference librarian who also wears outreach and engagement hats. I'd love to talk about:

•  Information literacy, especially cross-walking ACRL frames to other university rubrics and outcomes 
• Curiosity and wonder as postures for research 
• Website design and user experience 
• Unorthodox asynchronous learning 
• Storytelling as a critical (and often misunderstood) method for library outreach and assessment

As a librarian and social scientist, I have shaped my professional practice around government information and social science scholarship of research by making sense of the world with numbers. This includes understanding publishing trends, challenges in the use of social science data, and the instructional acumen in communicating those to students and researchers. These inform my approach to building collections in the University Library, instructional activities, and the development of reference services.
